Coordinate measuring machine is used to measure the three-dimensional shape of the object, the use of granite base can improve the accuracy of the measurement. In use, in order to ensure the accuracy of the measurement results, it is necessary to carry out regular performance testing and calibration of the granite base.
The first step is to perform a stability test. This is a key step in testing whether the granite base remains in a stable state. The test is done by placing a very heavy object on the base and recording its position. After a considerable amount of time, re-record its position and check whether any changes have occurred to the base. If there is no change, it can be proved that the granite base is stable.
The second step is to calibrate using the nib instead of the stylus. Discrete point calibration is the most common calibration method, which uses a set of discrete points to mark a granite base. It is best to use a nib rather than a stylus for marking, as the nib will not wear and deform. This ensures the accuracy of the calibration.
The third step is to repeat the test. Repeatability testing is the reproducibility of measurement results. Using fixed measurement parameters, the same object is measured on a granite base and the test is repeated three to five times. By comparing these measurements, the repeatability of the granite base can be determined.
The fourth step is error mapping. Error mapping analyzes any nonlinear errors on the granite base. A set of high-precision measuring blocks that can be checked for any errors on the granite base after positioning. These errors can be used to correct the measurement.
In short, regular accuracy testing and calibration is a key step to ensure that the CMM maintains high precision measurement results. The granite base is tested to ensure stability and accuracy.
