For workbenches used in precision measurement, such as those found in metrology rooms or semiconductor facilities, cleaning frequency depends on environmental cleanliness and usage intensity. Daily wiping is recommended for workbenches exposed to dust or oil, while a more thorough cleaning can be performed weekly or monthly. After each cleaning, the surface should be checked visually and, when possible, verified using an electronic level or optical flat to confirm that no residue or contamination has affected its precision.
Proper handling during and after cleaning is equally important. Heavy tools or components should never be placed directly on the granite surface, as impacts can create invisible micro-cracks. Always use protective mats or pads when assembling or measuring parts. Additionally, granite workbenches should be installed on vibration-isolated supports to prevent structural stress that might distort the surface geometry.
