- Cleaning: Use only mild, non-abrasive cleaners and distilled water. Wipe the surface with a lint-free cloth or a chamois skin. Never use strong acids, detergents, or scouring pads, as these can affect the surface finish.
- Handling: While robust, avoid dropping heavy tools or objects onto the surface, which can cause chipping or bruising and compromise flatness.
- Temperature: If possible, maintain the base within the operating temperature range of the measuring room (20±1°C) to minimize any thermal drift, though our Black Granite minimizes this risk.
- Recalibration: Although granite bases exhibit low wear, we recommend regular periodic recalibration, especially after major equipment relocation or service, utilizing a Laser Interferometer to verify flatness against international standards (e.g., ASME B89.3.7, DIN 876).
