How We Make It
Each component starts as selected black granite blocks. Large CNC equipment and heavy-duty grinding machines remove most of the material. Then comes the part no machine fully replaces: hand lapping by skilled technicians, many with decades of experience, who bring the reference faces to their final accuracy. Measurement happens in a temperature- and humidity-controlled workshop, using calibrated tools such as electronic levels, laser interferometers and precision indicators.

FAQ
Why choose granite instead of cast iron for a machine base?
Granite is dimensionally stable, doesn't corrode, and absorbs vibration well. Cast iron is strong, but it can hold internal stress and needs surface protection. For metrology and inspection equipment, granite is usually the safer choice.
How accurate can the component be?
Reference faces can reach 1 μm or better, depending on size and design. Tell us your flatness, parallelism and perpendicularity requirements and we'll confirm what's achievable.
Can you build it to my drawing?
Yes. Send a 2D or 3D drawing (PDF, DWG or STEP) and we'll review it, flag anything that could cause trouble in granite, and quote.
Can you add or change the threaded inserts?
Yes. Insert type, thread size and position can be customized to match your assembly.
How do you protect the part during shipping?
