Granite Equipment Bases Support Custom Sizes To Fit Various Instruments

In precision optics and semiconductor inspection industries, standard base products often fail to match unique equipment structures. When many equipment manufacturers develop new machines, the overall layout, travel range and lens arrangement are newly designed. Standard granite bases frequently bring problems such as misplaced mounting holes, limited table size and mismatched frame structures. With ultra-precision granite machining capabilities, UNPARALLELED provides fully custom base solutions. We can manufacture products ranging from thin compact bases for desktop vision machines to several-meter-long large gantry optical inspection frames according to customer requirements, to fit different types of precision instruments.

Customization means more than cutting a granite slab. For each base project, our engineers review customer drawings in advance, sort out mounting positions for stages, cameras, light sources and linear guideways. The equipment center of gravity and vibration transmission path are evaluated before finalizing base shape, thickness and reinforcing structure. For small laboratory inspection instruments, lightweight thin bases with limited threaded holes can be made. For high-speed AOI and large panel inspection machines, thicker bases and integrated gantry frames are adopted to boost rigidity and suppress vibration during operation.

In machining, UNPARALLELED uses CNC 5-axis machining centers for special profiles, slotting, drilling and embedded metal inserts. Scattered mounting holes, continuous guide grooves and groups of embedded copper sleeves can be formed in one process on granite blanks. Customers can directly assemble optical modules and motion components after receiving finished bases, eliminating secondary machining and shortening R&D cycles. Special structural requirements including partial weight reduction, clearance grooves and stepped reference surfaces can be realized via custom CNC machining.

What Inspection Equipment Are Granite Assembly Components Suitable For?

Material selection is also adjustable. High-density black granite is selected for projects demanding excellent vibration damping. If space is limited and load is low, slab thickness can be optimized to control weight while maintaining rigidity. All custom components are ultra-precision ground in constant-temperature workshops. Geometric tolerances like flatness and parallelism are strictly controlled. Products are inspected by high-precision devices including Mahr and Mitutoyo, with traceable test data complying with ISO three-system and CNAS standards.

Our custom service covers many instrument types: optical vision inspection machines, laser measuring equipment, CMM supporting bases, semiconductor microscopic inspection platforms and laboratory stage bases. Instruments from different industries vary greatly in working principle, precision targets and operating environments, which standard products can hardly satisfy. Custom granite bases are designed around the whole machine. The benchmark base serves machine performance instead of forcing equipment to adapt to standard base sizes.

UNPARALLELED tracks custom projects from drawing review, raw material selection, CNC machining, precision grinding to inspection. We assess structural risks in advance and propose dimension optimization suggestions. Stable delivery is available for prototype trial production and mass orders. Flexible customization helps instrument manufacturers break structural design limits and build high-performance precision inspection equipment.
