Granite bases are heavy, fragile and valuable, so their packaging and transportation require special attention to details to ensure that they are delivered intact. The following is a detailed explanation of practical operation points from the perspective of packaging materials, steps and transportation specifications:
一. Core requirements for packaging: choose the right materials and provide adequate protection
1. Required packaging materials (classified by function)
Shockproof layer: foam board, bubble film, elastic bandage - absorb impact during transportation and avoid damage to corners caused by vibration;
Moisture-proof layer: moisture-proof paper, plastic cloth - even in a humid environment, it can prevent moisture from penetrating the stone and protect the surface gloss and performance;
Fixers: solid wood frame, rope, fasteners - firmly fix the base in the packaging box to prevent shaking or displacement during transportation.
2. Four-step standardized packaging process
Clean the surface: thoroughly remove dust, oil and moisture from the surface of the base to avoid scratches caused by friction from dirt during transportation;
Moisture-proof wrapping: tightly wrap the base with moisture-proof materials, focusing on covering the corners (the most vulnerable parts) to ensure that there is no exposure;
Add a buffer layer: lay foam boards or bubble films around and above and below the base, and adjust the thickness according to the weight (heavy items are recommended to be ≥5cm);
Fixed into the box: put the wrapped base into a customized wooden frame/wooden box, and fix it diagonally with ropes to ensure that there is no gap with the box body - the wooden frame needs to be moisture-proof to avoid deformation when exposed to water.
3. Packaging labels are indispensable
Mark the following in a conspicuous place on the box:
Product information (type, size, quantity);
Warning signs ("fragile", "handle with care", "upward") to facilitate standardized operation of the handling personnel.
二. Standardization of the entire transportation process: choose the right method to reduce losses
1. How to choose the transportation method?
Short-distance small batches: Prioritize automobile transportation (choose closed trucks with shock pads), which is flexible and easy to control road conditions;
Long-distance large batches: Railway or water transportation is more stable, and the moisture-proof and load-bearing capacity of the carriage/cargo compartment must be confirmed in advance.

2. Details that must be paid attention to during transportation
Smooth driving: Avoid sudden braking and sharp turns. The driver needs to plan the route in advance to avoid bumpy sections;
Correct stacking: Follow the principle of "heavy bottom and light top, large bottom and small top", and pad wooden boards/foam boards between the bases to prevent mutual friction;
Professional handling: Use forklifts, cranes and other tools for loading and unloading, and it is strictly forbidden to drop, roll or throw; the handling personnel must wear protective hats and gloves to ensure safe operation.
Through scientific packaging and standardized transportation, the risk of damage to the granite base can be minimized to ensure that it is intact from the factory to the installation. Whether it is a precision instrument base or a large equipment base, this set of processes can adapt to the protection needs of different scenarios.
