Granite Machine Components – Assembly Process and Technical Requirements
To ensure the long-term performance and accuracy of granite-based machinery products, it is essential to follow the specified assembly procedures and technical requirements. While different granite machinery products may have specific instructions, the following key steps are common to most assembly processes.
1. Cleaning and Surface Preparation
All components should be thoroughly cleaned before assembly to remove casting sand, rust, oil, and machining debris. For critical parts like gantry saw frames or internal cavities, an anti-rust coating should be applied. Cleaning can be done using diesel, kerosene, or gasoline, followed by compressed air drying.
2. Lubrication Before Fitting
Mating surfaces must be lubricated prior to assembly, especially in spindle bearing locations and screw-nut mechanisms in lifting systems.
3. Dimensional Inspection
Check the fit dimensions of all mating parts, including spindle journals and bearing seats, as well as the center distance between bearing housings.
4. Gear Assembly
Ensure gear shaft centerlines are on the same plane and parallel. Maintain proper backlash and limit axial misalignment to within 2mm.
5. Flatness of Contact Surfaces
All contact surfaces must be flat, free of deformation, and burr-free to ensure tight, even contact.
6. Seal Installation
Install seals evenly into grooves without distortion, damage, or scratches on sealing surfaces.
7. Pulley Alignment
Pulley shafts must be parallel, and grooves aligned. Use V-belts of matching length to prevent uneven tension and vibration.
8. Bearing Assembly
Clean bearings before installation, remove anti-rust coatings, and check for corrosion or stiffness. Apply a thin layer of lubricant and install with even force, avoiding direct impact on rolling elements.
9. Threaded Connections & Locking Devices
Select anti-loosening devices such as double nuts, spring washers, or lock plates. Tighten bolts in a symmetrical sequence, ensuring threads extend beyond the nut.
10. Inspection During Assembly
Perform ongoing checks during assembly to ensure all components meet technical standards.
11. Pre-Start Checks
Verify assembly completeness, connection accuracy, smooth movement of parts, and proper lubrication before startup.
12. Monitoring During Start-Up
Observe speed, smoothness, spindle operation, oil pressure, temperature, vibration, and noise immediately after starting. Proceed to trial operation only when parameters are stable.
13. Trial Run and Performance Testing
Test performance based on product acceptance criteria, including feed speed adjustment, travel accuracy, lifting movement, and spindle rotation precision.
